Why local?

All the garments are made with aloha in the land of Hawaii. Producing the garments locally supports the local economy and generates growth on the island.

Why bamboo?

The bamboo plant is capable of growing quickly without herbicides, pesticides, or fertilizers. Bamboo is also 100% biodegradable. Bamboo is beneficial to soil growth, aids in generating eroded soil, and retains water in watersheds. Bamboo is a sustainable fiber, which is both great for the planet and a fashionable way to support eco-efforts. Bamboo fights greenhouse gases. Bamboo can absorb five times more carbon dioxide and can generate thirty-five percent more oxygen than other trees.

The bamboo fiber produces a fabric which is soft, has a nice sheen, and is known for its durability. Bamboo can be laundered easily, is safe for sensitive skin, and is hyper-allergenic. Other benefits include the anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties of bamboo. The anti-bacteria agent found in bamboo fights odors and keeps clothes fresh. Bamboo is also water absorbent, and is capable of keeping water away from body three to four times better than cotton. Bamboo is very breathable, and a practical choice for humid climates because bamboo aids in keeping the wearer drier.

Other ways we are eco:

Efforts made to be eco-conscious include recycling paper, and printing on recycled paper. Additionally, cans, bottles, and glasses are donated to the local homeless to recycle.
